Bill is a fourth generation Carpenter who takes great pride in his work. Born and raised in Narberth, he's a third generation
'Narb.'
"My Grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Becker moved to Narberth in 1915." My Mother was born here in 1927, and attended St. Margaret's School
as did I some 40 years later."
At the age of 10, Bill started
apprenticing in woodworking with his father. My father taught me the most important carpentry lesson
I ever learned: "If you are going to make something, make sure you do it with the best quality wood, think
it through so you do it right the first time, build it so it lasts a life time, and most important of all, make sure when your
are finished, everyone who sees it says 'wow'."
After
graduating from St. Margaret's School, Bill attended Lower
Merion High School, and then earned a Bachelors degree in Labor
and Industrial Relations Management from Penn State.
Bill has worked in all facets
of the home improvement trade, from plastering to laying hard
floors, from major additions to simple bathroom renovations.
Bill's specialty is in framing and finish carpentry.
Bill is a contributor to the online
trade magazine "This is Carpentry" and frequent guest on
the Fox 29 news discussing home improvement and
maintenance.
He is also certified by the EPA in
lead-safe work practices.
"My philosophy is to
provide simple, quality work at reasonable prices. I approach each project as if I'm building for myself. And in a way, I am!"
